2025 School Placement to Begin September 17

The placement process for students who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is set to officially begin on September 17, according to the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, Director General of the GES, stated that the exercise is expected to take at least three weeks to complete. The timeline is designed to give students ample time to prepare for their new school year.

Before the placement results are released, a one-week period will be opened for BECE candidates to review and make corrections to their details on the portal. This process will run from September 1 to September 8, 2025. Prof. Davis noted that this measure is intended to minimize errors and prevent unnecessary delays in the placement process.

In a statement to the public, Prof. Davis reassured parents and students that the placement will be conducted smoothly and based purely on merit.

“The placement results will be published online for easy access,” he said, adding that “the Ministry is committed to ensuring a smooth and credible exercise.”
