Ghana is set to mount a distinctive permanent artefact at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the National Communications Authority (NCA).
The initiative is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and the NCA.
As part of the initiative, the three institutions have launched a national call for Ghanaian artists and creatives to submit concepts for an iconic piece that will represent Ghana on the international stage.
Dubbed “Ghana At ITU – Create A Piece Of Ghana For The World,” the initiative seeks an original and culturally significant work suitable for permanent display in an international diplomatic setting.
The organisers said the artefact is expected to serve as a representation of Ghana’s identity, creativity and cultural heritage while providing an opportunity to showcase the country’s artistic talent to an international audience.
The call for submissions opens on Monday, October 5, 2026, and closes on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
According to the organisers, the opportunity is open to all Ghanaians, including students, individual artists, creatives and companies. Applicants are not required to have any minimum level of professional experience to participate.
Interested persons are expected to submit their concepts by the October 15 deadline through the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations’ website, www.moc.gov.gh.
Applicants seeking further information or clarification may also contact [email protected] or call 0244371055.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to use Ghanaian creativity and cultural expression to strengthen the country’s visibility and identity on the global stage, while commemorating three decades of the NCA’s contribution to Ghana’s communications sector.
