Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, popularly known as Abeiku Santana, has strongly denied allegations made by former Minister of Tourism, Mark Okraku Mantey, accusing him of using official government working hours to host his private radio program.
In a statement released on Monday, Abeiku Santana categorically refuted the claims, describing them as “entirely false and misleading.” He emphasized his commitment to his official duties and clarified that he is not actively engaged in radio broadcasting during his tenure as a government appointee.
“I wish to categorically state that the recent claim made by Mr. Mark Okraku Mantey, alleging that I am still actively engaged in radio broadcasting despite my government appointment, is entirely false and misleading,” Santana said.
The allegations surfaced after Mr. Okraku Mantey suggested in a recent interview that Abeiku Santana was continuing his private broadcasting activities during official working hours, raising concerns about a potential conflict of interest and misuse of state resources.
Abeiku Santana, a renowned broadcaster and tourism advocate, assured the public and stakeholders that he remains dedicated to advancing the interests of Ghana’s tourism sector and upholding the highest standards of professionalism in his official capacity.
The Ghana Tourism Authority has not yet issued an official statement on the matter. Meanwhile, industry observers are calling for clarity and transparency to maintain public trust in the Authority’s leadership.
