It was a beautiful sight to behold when AGOSEC was crowned the overall champions at the 47th Annual Inter-School Sports Festivals, held at Mawuli School.
The five-day sporting event, under the distinguished tutelage of Dr. Esther Adzo Yeboah-Adzimah, Director of Education for Ho Municipal, embodied the theme “Sports: A Tool for Positive Formation for the Youth.” Fourteen schools from four district and municipal assemblies competed fiercely in soccer, volleyball, handball, basketball, table tennis, netball, cross country, and athletics, drawing thousands of spectators to the game village.
Dominant Performances Secure Victory
AGOSEC, a senior high school from Agotime-Ziope District, topped the medal table with 25 accolades: 13 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze, securing the overall championship heading into the next sporting year. The table tennis team shone with two gold medals for both boys and girls, while the athletics squads claimed overall positions in boys and girls categories. The cross-country girls team successfully defended their trophy won three years prior.
Team Credits Resilience and Leadership
Mr. Justice Agbتیازkey, the team’s spokesperson and girls’ soccer coach, told rymcitigh.com that overcoming financial hurdles required great determination, crediting Headmaster Mr. Eric Etornam Sunfra’s meritorious leadership. Other coaching staff included Mr. Joseph Kwaku Duah, Mr. Maxwell Adom, and Mr. Japheth Letsa (PE Masters), Mr. Bright Dzotsiafe (table tennis), Madam Charity Samlafo (netball), Mr. Jonas Gafah (volleyball), and Mr. Mawuli Tengey (boys’ soccer). Collective efforts propelled AGOSEC to this ultimate triumph—congratulations are in order.
