Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed his appreciation for the guidance he has received from AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.
The 24-year-old, who has been working with the Spaniard since last season, is now preparing for Iraola’s first full season in the Premier League.
Iraola took over the reins from Gary O’Neill in the summer of 2023, during a challenging stretch in which Bournemouth went nine games without a win.
However, by the end of the season, the team set a new club record with a total of 48 points in the Premier League.
Semenyo has also seen a significant rise in his performance, scoring eight league goals—matching the highest tally of his career.
“I’ve learned so much from him and he’s getting better. He loves communicating with us and we love communicating with him,” Semenyo told The Athletic.
“He is just a nice guy — that’s the No 1 thing. He’s approachable and easy to talk to.”
This season, Semenyo has scored three goals and provided one assist in eight league appearances.
