Mahama Thanks Supporters for “Enough is Enough” Demonstration

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has expressed gratitude to the NDC party leadership and Ghanaians for their participation in a nationwide demonstration held on September 17, 2024, aimed to advocate for a forensic audit of the voter register ahead of the upcoming December elections.

John Mahama who is on a two-day campaign tour in the Ahafo Region, emphasized the importance of ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.

In a post on X, he noted that the strong commitment shown by Ghanaians reflects a collective determination to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

“I am incredibly thankful to my NDC executives, the Elections Directorate, and our dedicated supporters for publicly manifesting our concerns,” he stated.

John Mahama reiterated that the demonstration was not merely about auditing the voter register but also a broader call for justice, fairness, and the protection of democratic rights. He urged the Electoral Commission (EC) not to betray the trust that Ghanaians have placed in its operations.

The former president’s remarks come as the NDC continues to push for greater transparency in the electoral process, particularly regarding alleged discrepancies in the current voter register.
