Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia joined the chiefs and people of Cape Coast to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Fetu Afahye festival, which also marked the 25th anniversary of the enstoolment of Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of Oguaa (Cape Coast).
He stated that the theme for this year’s celebration, “Celebrating the City of Firsts: Our People, Our Culture,” encapsulated the essence of Ghanaian identity and reflected the rich cultural heritage of Cape Coast, a city that has played a foundational role in the nation’s history.
For six decades, the Fetu Afahye festival has united the community, providing a platform for cultural expression and community bonding. As the festival reached this significant milestone.
Vice President Bawumia called on Ghanaians to reaffirm their commitment to preserving their rich cultural heritage for future generations.
He emphasized the importance of working together to build a prosperous and peaceful Ghana. The event was graced by the presence of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other dignitaries, adding to the grandeur of the celebration.
