Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artist , Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the Nigerian artist with the most entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This historic accomplishment follows the debut of the track “We Pray,” a collaboration featuring Coldplay, Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini Stoessel, which entered the chart at No. 87 this week.
With this latest entry, Burna Boy has now amassed a total of six Billboard Hot 100 entries, surpassing Tems, who holds five. This places him ahead of Wizkid, the pioneering Nigerian artist on the chart with four entries.
Other prominent Nigerian artists such as Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Davido, and Lojay each have one entry on this prestigious chart.
Burna Boy is now just one song shy of breaking the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by an African artist, currently held by South African rock band Seether.
