Renowned economist and former vice-presidential candidate of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Dr. Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, has publicly likened President John Dramani Mahama to Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, praising his commitment to industrialization and advancing African unity.
In an exclusive media interview, Dr. Mensah highlighted that President Mahama’s developmental agenda for Ghana and his stance on continental issues align closely with the pioneering vision of Dr. Nkrumah, who fervently sought to establish Ghana as an industrial hub and unite African states under a common cause.
“President John Mahama is Dr. Kwame Nkrumah incarnate; his development plans and industrialization drive demonstrate the zeal and qualities of a true deacon of democracy, dedicated to improving citizens’ welfare.” Dr. Mensah stated.
Dr. Mensah further noted that during his second term, President Mahama continues to exhibit the skills, energy, and vision of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. He called on the President to maintain focus in his development quest and urged government appointees to be proactive in translating the President’s vision into reality.
While commending some ministers for their dedication, Dr. Mensah expressed concerns over the slow pace of others, emphasizing the need for stronger support and diligent work to achieve the country’s ambitious goals.
On the international front, Dr. Mensah acknowledged President Mahama’s influential role, particularly within the African Union, where he has inspired many African youths.
“Recently ranked as the best African leader, President Mahama’s leadership reflects the promising trajectory of Ghanaian governance,” he said, urging the President to accelerate progress and stay unwavering in his mission.
Dr. Mensah also called on Ghanaians to embrace development as a collective responsibility rather than relying solely on government efforts. “Every citizen has a role to play. Rekindling the spirit of communal labor is essential for Ghana’s prosperity,” he concluded.
