Aide to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer,Joyce Bawah Mogtari has commended the pivotal role of women in transforming the party’s 2024 election campaign. She highlighted the remarkable contributions of women from diverse backgrounds who have significantly reshaped the face of the NDC’s campaign efforts.
In a post on X, Lawyer Joyce Mogtari emphasized the grassroots mobilization led by women across all levels and regions, noting their exceptional resilience, determination, and leadership skills. She praised their natural ability to nurture, coupled with a strong love for both country and party.
“From the grassroots mobilization across all levels and regions, our Women have shown remarkable resilience, determination and leadership, coupled with a natural ability to nurture. They have consistently demonstrated love for country, love for party and dutifully nurturing a whole generation of young women who are just as vibrant and passionate about politics and who are committed to campaigning assiduously for change.” she noted.
According to her, the #Mahama4Change2024 campaign has already covered ten regions and is entering its eleventh with the party’s various campaign teams being instrumental in building momentum for the bid to return to power.
Highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, she stated that when women are empowered, it directly translates to improved outcomes and economic stability, emphasizing the need for women’s voices to be heard at all levels of governance, given that women and children often bear the brunt of poverty and inequality.
Meanwhile, she celebrated John Mahama’s nomination of Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang as his running mate, marking the first time a major political party in Ghana has made such a choice. She views this as a significant step towards progress and gender equality in Ghanaian politics.
As the December 7, 2024 election approaches, the astute lawyer asserted that a vote for John Mahama would be a vote for progress, inclusion, and gender equality, potentially making the NDC the first political party to give Ghana her first female Vice President.
