Eugene Boakye Antwi Urges NPP to Adopt NDC’s Effective Leadership Model

Former Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to learn from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and adopt some of their successful strategies.

According to Eugene Boakye Antwi, political rivalry should not prevent the NPP from borrowing good ideas from the NDC. He highlighted the NDC’s establishment of a strong Council of Elders, which holds the party leadership accountable and ensures they stay on the right path.

“The NDC has put in place a fearsome Council of Elders who always make sure to put leadership on its toes, and we need to copy that as NPP,” Boakye Antwi said during an interview on Peace FM’s Krokrokoo Morning Show.

He emphasized that in politics, as in business, if a competitor is implementing effective measures that enhance their appeal, it is wise to learn and replicate those strategies to remain competitive and effective.

Checks and balances, he noted, are crucial for good governance and party discipline, and the NPP stands to benefit greatly by instituting similar mechanisms.
