Ghanaian artist Quamina MP has urged the public to stop calling local musicians stingy in response to Davido’s $5,000 gift to Ananzo. In an interview with Amansan Krakye, Quamina MP explained that many Ghanaian musicians also support their fans and others generously, but prefer to keep such acts private.
He said, “Davido giving Ananzo Official $5,000 doesn’t mean Ghanaian artistes are stingy, as some people might think. A Ghanaian musician could even give more but choose not to publicize it.”
Quamina MP stressed that many local musicians quietly help people in various ways—especially those who promote Ghanaian music—and the public often isn’t aware because these gestures are not made public. He concluded, “I won’t say no Ghanaian musician has given Ananzo anything. We are not stingy, as some claim.”
