GTBank Sustains Autism Awareness Drive in Ghana for Fifth Straight Year

GTBank Ghana has reaffirmed its leadership in Autism awareness, marking four consecutive years of impactful initiatives and gearing up for the next chapter in 2026.

The bank’s journey began in 2022 with “Creating a Community of Awe-tism Warriors,” followed by 2023’s “Empowering Voices for Autism,” 2024’s exploration of “A Spectrum of Possibilities,” and 2025’s call to action with “From Awareness to Action.” Each campaign has transcended rhetoric, delivering tangible support to promote understanding and inclusion for individuals with autism in Ghana and beyond.

As preparations unfold for this year’s event, GTBank emphasized its commitment to engaging parents, caregivers, and the autism community to foster a more inclusive society.

Speaking at the launch, GTBank Ghana’s Managing Director, Mr. Thomas John, declared the initiative a permanent fixture. “The Autism project is here to stay, and we are here today for the continuation of our quest to bring enlightenment to society about autism,” he said. “How to give a special thank you to the parents who are here today, the caregivers, and the people who call the warriors that live with autism – it can only get better as we continue to assist them to live a better life.”

Dr. Hafez Adams Taher, Acting Director of Technical Coordination at the Ministry of Health, commended GTBank’s efforts. “The ministry is pleased that GT Bank has taken a bold step to make sure that they add up to the awareness creation for us all to make sure that they get the needed attention that they need,” he stated.

The event underscores growing private-sector involvement in addressing neurodevelopmental needs in Ghana, where autism awareness remains critical amid limited public resources.
