Popular Nigerian comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely known as Sabinus, has shared a painful personal experience from a past relationship, revealing that despite his expensive gesture of love he was, however, left heartbroken.
Sabinus disclosed a recent livestream with TikToker Sandra Benede, where he described love as “cruel” and expressed sympathy for fellow TikTok personality, Hamzat Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, who has been in the spotlight following his breakup with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Amadou, popularly called Jarvis.
Speaking during the livestream, the comedian said he could relate deeply to Peller’s emotional outbursts and distress, noting that he had once gone through a similar ordeal.
Peller has recently drawn public attention after displaying emotional breakdowns and being involved in a serious car accident reportedly linked to the heartbreak.
Peller was hospitalised after the incident and later arrested by authorities in line with extant traffic laws.
Recalling his own experience, Sabinus revealed that he once gifted a former lover a Range Rover out of affection, only for the relationship to later collapse—an action he said he came to regret.
“Jarvis has finished Peller. I have been in Peller’s situation before. Love is cruel. I once gifted a girl a Range Rover because of love. She later left me. I regretted it. So nobody should blame Peller,” he said.
Sabinus urged Nigerians to show empathy toward Peller, stressing that heartbreak can push people into actions they might not otherwise take.
Readers may recall that Sabinus had, in December 2025, confirmed during a TikTok livestream that his marriage to his wife and mother of his child, Ciana Chapman, had ended.
The comedian and Chapman tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2023, but the union reportedly lasted just over a year.
