Interior Minister Urges Fairness and Transparency in Gbiniyiri Conflict Mediation

Interior Minister Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has tasked the newly established Mediation Committee with a critical mission to resolve the long-standing Gbiniyiri Conflict. Emphasizing the importance of trust and fairness, the Minister urged the committee members to carry out their duties with strict impartiality, ensuring that no party involved is given undue advantage.

He also highlighted the necessity for transparency throughout the mediation process to foster confidence among all stakeholders and the wider community. According to the Minister, this openness will help dispel any suspicions or misinformation that could hinder the peacebuilding efforts.

Furthermore, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak called for inclusivity in the committee’s approach, encouraging the active participation of all affected groups, including traditional leaders, youth representatives, women, and local authorities. By engaging diverse voices, the mediation is expected to address the root causes of the conflict comprehensively and promote sustainable reconciliation.
