Market Women Demand Reform as NDC Highlights Women’s Development Bank and Inclusive Leadership

Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has revealed the NDC’s in-depth understanding of the need for a Women’s Development Bank and other policies to support women entrepreneurs.

The running mate, who was on a campaign tour of Greater Accra on Monday, visited the Mallam, Odorkor, Achimota, and Dome markets, among others, in the Ablekuma North, Okaikoi North, and Dome-Kwabenya constituencies.

In a post on X, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said she was struck by the strong calls for change from market women, who voiced their frustrations about the greed, arrogance and state capture experienced over the past seven and a half years. She was impressed by the market women and shoppers’ understanding and engagement regarding the NDC’s policy on the Women’s Development Bank, which aims to support women entrepreneurs, make women more financially independent, and increase the support of women to their families.

“I was impressed by the market women and shoppers’ understanding and engagement regarding the NDC’s policy on the Women’s Development Bank, which aims to support women entrepreneurs, make women more financially independent and increase the support of women to their families.” She noted.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed pride in being part of a party that truly values every individual, regardless of ethnicity, age, religion, education, or gender.

“The NDC is committed to equality and aims to represent all citizens as they work towards building the Ghana they want together” she stated.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang continued her campaign in the Tema Central, Tema East, and Tema West constituencies, sharing the NDC’s message of hope.
