President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a “Thank You” tour in the Ashanti Region today, expressing his gratitude to the populace for their significant role in his recent electoral victory. The visit marks a key step in acknowledging the region’s support, which contributed to his return to power after an eight-year period in opposition.
The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) officially confirmed the President’s itinerary in a statement. “I have been directed by the Hon. Regional Minister to respectfully inform all Stakeholders and the general public that the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, will be visiting the Ashanti Region on a ‘Thank You Tour’,” the statement read.
The ARCC further elaborated on the purpose of the tour, stating, “This is to express his profound gratitude to the people of the region for their overwhelming support in the just-ended general elections held in December 2024.”
Among the President’s scheduled engagements, a key event will be an address at the Kumasi Jubilee Park, expected to commence at noon.
The ARCC extended an invitation to the public, encouraging their attendance: “In this regard, you are all cordially invited to attend this important occasion and show solidarity by welcoming H. E. John Dramani Mahama to the Region.”
