Vice Presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, has urged the Electoral Commission to ensure fair and credible elections in the upcoming December polls.
Speaking at the grand durbar of chiefs and the people of Axim during this year’s Kundum festival, she emphasized the critical need for unity and tolerance as the nation approaches the elections.
Prof. Opoku Agyemang highlighted the importance of accountability from the Electoral Commission, stating, “It is imperative that chiefs support our call for accountability from the Electoral Commission. This is the surest way to maintain peace before, during, and after the election.”
She also addressed pressing issues such as illegal mining, promising that a future NDC government would not engage with those involved in such activities.
Furthermore, she encouraged the youth to reject violence and reiterated the party’s commitment to peaceful elections, reinforcing the message that Ghanaians are capable of electing servant leaders.
