QNET Champions Health and Wellness on World Health Day

The Global Compliance Officer of QNET, Naana Quartey, has urged Ghanaians to prioritize their well-being as a cornerstone for the country’s development. She emphasized that active practices such as regular exercise and proper nutrition are key components of a healthy lifestyle.

Speaking at QNET’s World Health Day celebration in Accra, Ms. Quartey revealed that health goes beyond the absence of diseases like malaria or tuberculosis and encompasses energy, vibrancy, and overall wellness.

“Being healthy allows individuals to achieve their dreams and aspirations,” she noted.

She further disclosed that the company has been involved in World Health Day events over the past five years, championing health and fitness among the Ghanaian populace to promote physical activity and overall wellness.

Regarding recent reports of scams involving job opportunities and travel offers, Ms. Quartey clarified that QNET does not offer jobs or travel packages. Instead, the company provides individuals with opportunities to work remotely through a direct selling model. She advised victims of these scams to reach out to QNET for legal assistance and support in prosecuting the perpetrators.

“We are dedicated to ensuring our customers are not misled by scammers,” she affirmed.

Dr. Frank Marful, a dietician with the Nyaho Medical Centre, reiterated the potential of nutraceuticals and dietary fiber in promoting overall wellness. He explained that nutraceuticals combine nutrition and pharmaceuticals, often derived from plant extracts, and perform functions similar to pharmaceutical drugs. These products are in high demand due to their rich nutrients and health benefits. However, experts caution that while nutraceuticals can complement traditional treatments, they should be used under medical guidance to avoid potential interactions.

Dr. Marful also highlighted the importance of soluble fibers, found in foods like beans and leafy vegetables, which provide health benefits, while insoluble fibers aid in digestion and protect against harmful substances. This distinction underscores the crucial role of fiber in preventing harmful substances from entering the bloodstream.

He noted that natural health promotion will become increasingly important with technological advancements in health monitoring and a potential shift towards natural remedies replacing traditional medications.

“As we move forward, embracing natural health practices will be crucial for achieving better health outcomes,” he added.

The celebration concluded with aerobics and yoga activities for participants, emphasizing the importance of combining healthy supplements from QNET with physical activities to maintain overall health.
