FC Samartex head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has expressed his satisfaction following his team’s hard-fought victory over Victoria United in the second leg of the CAF Champions League qualifiers.
The match, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium, saw Samartex secure a narrow 1-0 win thanks to an early goal from Isaac Afful in the 8th minute.
Reflecting on the match during a post-game interview, coach Amadu acknowledged the challenging nature of the encounter.
He noted that his team had anticipated a tough contest, especially given the playing style of their opponents.
“We anticipated that it was going to be tough. This is how they played there,” coach Amadu remarked, highlighting the resilience required from his players to secure the win.
Despite the difficulties, the coach emphasized the importance of the victory, expressing contentment with the outcome.
“It was a difficult game, but what is important is that we have won,” he stated, showing confidence in his team’s performance.”
With a 2-0 aggregate victory over Victoria, Samartex now sets its sights on a second-round clash against Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic, as they continue their pursuit of a spot in the CAF Champions League group stage.
