Final year student stabbed to death at O’Reilly Senior High School

A student at O’Reilly Senior High School has been stabbed by his colleague on Monday, September 2 resulting in the tragic death of 18-year-old Edward Borketey Sackey, a final-year student in the General Arts Department.

According to eyewitnesses, a fight broke out between Edward and a fellow student, Godwin, from the Visual Arts Department, shortly after Edward finished writing an exam.

The altercation allegedly stemmed from a dispute over who was wealthier, with Godwin stabbing Edward three times in the chest, according to reports.

Edward’s cousin reported that she had been warned by Godwin to caution her “brother or else his blood will flow.”

Despite reporting the incident to teachers, no action was taken. Tragically, upon her return, Edward was found covered in blood and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The school community is in shock and an investigation into the incident is underway.

However, there has been no official statement from the school authorities.
