Our incontrovertible sources suggest that the Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) Alhassan Yakubu-Tali is likely to be fired or compelled to proceed on leave.
This portal understands that the Board of the Bank the Nine-member Board is currently locked up in a meeting to determine the fate of the beleaguered MD, Alhassan Yakubu-Tali .
Details of the reasons for which he could be axed remain sketchy but it is rumoured that the move is linked to a scandal which is likely to make the current government unpopular.
Our source revealed that the Board is expected to make a decision today October 11, 2024, barring any last-minute changes.
Meanwhile, a petition has been filed by someone against the Board Chairman of the ADB, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II.
A businessman, Collins Darkwah Aboagye, a petition to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, made several allegations against the Board Chairman.
The petition reads in part “Daasebre allegedly demanded a bribe of 50,000 Ghana Cedis upfront and a further loan from the approved 12 million Ghana Cedis loan. Under pressure from my suppliers to procure logistics for the cashew to be supplied, I had no other choice than to agree to the conditions”
Despite fulfilling these demands, Mr. Aboagye claims that Daasebre continued to pressure him for additional funds, threatening to use his position to frustrate the business if he did not comply. The Presidency has since acknowledged receipt of the petition. It is however unclear if the woes of the MD is linked to this development or otherwise.
