Scrap teacher and nurses training allowances – Ghanaians to Education Minister

Reports are rife that the government is considering cutting allowances for teacher trainees and nursing trainees across the country.

This move will make way for the introduction of student loans to these trainees.

All these are part of measures to cut costs for the country while expanding access to teacher training and nursing training colleges across the country.

The decision to introduce the loan scheme rather than allowances has been met with applause, as a section of Ghanaians believe that it is about time these trainees are made to secure loans for their education and pay back when they start working.
