Nigerian music icon Flavour is celebrating the 15th anniversary of his groundbreaking album, “Uplifted,” a pivotal release that redefined his career and significantly impacted the highlife and Afropop genres. Released 15 years ago, “Uplifted” was lauded for its innovative fusion of traditional Igbo highlife rhythms with contemporary Afropop production, creating a unique sound that resonated widely.

Even today, “Uplifted” continues to demonstrate its enduring popularity as a streaming powerhouse. According to Spotify data, the album’s standout songs feature on over two million user-created playlists. Flavour’s global streams have seen a remarkable 134 percent increase from 2022 to 2024, with an astonishing 573 percent growth specifically within Sub-Saharan Africa.
