PAHAM to Provide Potable Drinking Water to Communities in Ketu North

Pateli Health Aid Missions (PAHAM), a non-profit organization operating in Ghana and the United States, is set to provide potable drinking water to four communities in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region. This initiative, part of PAHAM’s “Clean Water 4 ALL” project, is expected to benefit over 10,000 residents across Torgbeve, Gbegbekofe, Anfoeto, and Bedikofe.

Speaking exclusively to Newslinkghan.com, Ms. Patience Edziah, Chief Executive Director of PAHAM, expressed the organization’s enthusiasm for successfully raising the necessary resources for this mechanized water project.

“We are excited to raise all the resources for the mechanized water project, which will help these communities to drink potable water that will prevent the spread of water-borne diseases in the area,” she stated.

Ms. Edziah emphasized that vulnerable communities deserve improved access to essential services, acknowledging that governments alone cannot address all community challenges. “We are of the belief that government cannot do it all, and that is why as an organization we are ready and willing to find the resources to build a mechanized water system for these communities for clean safe potable water,” she affirmed.

She further highlighted the significant relief the project will bring to women and children, who currently endure the burden of walking long distances in search of water. The provision of fresh borehole water is expected to curtail this arduous daily task, improving the overall health and dignity of the residents.

Ms. Edziah extended her gratitude to the PAHAM team in Ghana for their diligent preliminary work, including community identification and engagement activities, which were crucial in shaping the project’s implementation.

Looking ahead, Ms. Edziah called for greater collaboration with other organizations in the USA interested in supporting health and water projects in Ghana. She encouraged potential partners to join forces with PAHAM for efficient and impactful collaborations that will consistently enhance the living standards of the Ghanaian people.

“We are very much open to impactful partnerships that will revolutionize the healthcare system of Ghana at all levels. We are also ready for volunteers that want to help out in our partner communities,” she concluded.
