Saviour Amakpa, Deputy Constituency Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ho Central, is seeking the substantive treasurer position, promising to strengthen financial accountability, expand grassroots participation and mobilise resources to support the party’s development agenda.
As delegates prepare to vote in the party’s constituency executive elections, Amakpa is making prudent financial management and inclusive leadership key pillars of his campaign, emphasising the need to build trust and ensure that constituency resources are used responsibly.
A central feature of his vision is a transparent financial administration system that ensures proper accounting for funds received and spent by the constituency. He believes accountability is essential to strengthening confidence among party members and improving the management of party activities.
Amakpa is also seeking to broaden financial mobilisation by encouraging contributions from party supporters and other stakeholders to support organisational activities, grassroots engagement and preparations for the 2028 general elections.
Beyond financial management, the aspiring treasurer has highlighted the welfare of branch executives, recognising their role in sustaining the party’s structures and mobilising support at the community level.

As part of this agenda, he says he has developed a welfare proposal for branch executives, which has received reviews from experienced party figures. The initiative is intended to provide a more structured approach to addressing their welfare needs and strengthening their participation in party activities.
Amakpa’s campaign also places emphasis on extending participation in constituency decision-making, with a focus on ensuring that grassroots members remain connected to the party’s leadership and organisational priorities.
With the NDC looking ahead to the 2028 general elections, the management of constituency finances and the mobilisation of resources are expected to remain important issues in strengthening party operations.
For Amakpa, the constituency treasurer position presents an opportunity to combine financial discipline, wider member participation and improved support for branch executives in the administration of the Ho Central constituency.
Delegates are expected to decide who will oversee the constituency’s finances and help resource its activities in the next phase of the party’s internal organisation.
