Popular TikToker Hamzat Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, has stirred reactions on social media after declaring that he no longer intends to date or marry a Nigerian woman.
The comment followed his recent breakup with fellow content creator Amadou Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis.
In a circulating video from one of his live sessions, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by OlamideØfficial on Friday, Peller said his decision was shaped by personal experiences and an encounter he described with a woman from another African country.
“You know, say, I don’t break up, but if I want to later get a girlfriend or anything, it will not be in Nigeria.
“There is a country IShowSpeed went to where he asked a man how many cows would be needed to marry his daughter. That girl is very fine. I swear to Almighty God, the girl is very fine,” the internet sensation said in his signature accent.
Peller went on to praise the woman’s composure and demeanour, describing her as calm and soft-spoken—qualities he said stood out to him during their interaction.
“The girl was talking, she was calm, she was cool,” he added.
Doubling down on his stance, the content creator made it clear that he had ruled out romantic relationships with Nigerian women going forward.
“If I want to have a girlfriend now, I can never date a Nigerian woman again. I will go to another African country,” he stated, adding that his mindset had shifted away from Nigeria.
The remarks have since sparked intense conversations online, with social media users sharply divided.
While some criticised Peller for generalising Nigerian women, others defended his right to personal preference, arguing that relationship choices are subjective and shaped by individual experiences.
Jarvis broke up with Peller in December 2025, a development that led to another incident in which he crashed his Mercedes-Benz on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
In a separate livestream in January, Peller confirmed that the relationship had ended, describing the emotional toll it took on him. He revealed that he had reached out to Jarvis’ family to seek forgiveness for his actions and emphasised that he would be prioritising himself in the New Year.
He also noted that he did not want girls around him, appealing for modesty during his livestreams and urging female viewers to dress appropriately.
