Police in the Central Tongu District have uncovered a disturbing case of murder involving ritual practices, following the disappearance of a young man in early December. The investigation, which has led to several arrests, reveals a plot driven by jealousy and the quest for a human body for ritual purposes.
The case began on December 17, 2024, when Madam Comfort Hates, a trader from Donkorkrom in the Eastern Region, reported to the Mafi Adidome Police Command that her son, Nelson Anyana, had gone missing on December 4, 2024. According to Madam Hates, Nelson had left his home in Mafi Adidome to meet Augustina Fiawoyife and had not been seen since.

Police investigations, as disclosed to MaceeTV and Macee FM, quickly led to the arrest of Augustina Fiawoyife. Further inquiries revealed her relationship with Wisdom Hedidor, a herbalist with whom she cohabited in Mafi Avakpadome, a suburb of Mafi Adidome.
It emerged that Wisdom Hedidor had grown suspicious and jealous due to Nelson Anyana’s frequent phone calls to Augustina Fiawoyife, leading him to warn her against continued communication with the deceased.
Concurrently, Gblor Noah, a fetish priest, reportedly approached his friend, Courage Bedzo, a Kente weaver also residing in Mafi Avakpadome, with a request for a dead body for ritualistic purposes in exchange for a ransom. Courage Bedzo then conveyed this request to Wisdom Hedidor.
The two men, Wisdom Hedidor and Courage Bedzo, allegedly conspired to murder Nelson Anyana, leveraging Hedidor’s existing animosity towards Anyana over his calls to Fiawoyife. The investigation further revealed that Wisdom Hedidor convinced Augustina Fiawoyife to lure Nelson Anyana to a secluded location, enabling them to carry out their deadly plan and offer his body to Gblor Noah for financial gain.
On December 4, 2024, at approximately 7:30 PM, Augustina Fiawoyife reportedly arranged to meet Nelson Anyana at an isolated spot near the DC Bungalow in Mafi Adidome. As Anyana arrived and began conversing with Fiawoyife, Wisdom Hedidor and Courage Bedzo, who had been hiding in nearby bushes, emerged and fatally strangled him.
Following the murder, Courage Bedzo contacted Gblor Noah to confirm their success and directed him to the location of Anyana’s body. Gblor Noah, accompanied by Gblor John, a lotto writer, then transported Nelson Anyana’s body to their residence in Gblorkope, Central Tongu District. There, parts of the body were reportedly used in rituals at a shrine, with the remaining remains later buried in a nearby bush.

All individuals implicated in the crime have been arrested and are assisting the police with their ongoing investigation into this heinous act.
