The Vice President of Ghana, Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, was honored as the Lady Sponsor at the naming ceremony of a new dual-fuel vessel by Pacific International Lines (PIL). The event took place at Tema Port and was attended by the Minister for Transport, his deputy, and other senior government officials.
This state-of-the-art vessel is set to enhance Ghana’s supply chains and bolster trade links with West Africa and Asia, underscoring the country’s growing prominence in regional trade and logistics. The ceremony also highlighted the enduring partnership between Ghana and Singapore, with a shared commitment to innovation and the development of local talent.
The Vice President praised PIL’s efforts in job creation and strengthening bilateral relations while acknowledging the pivotal role of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) in advancing the nation’s maritime industry.
She noted on her X platform, “Let this be a new chapter of collaboration and opportunity for Ghana’s shipping and logistics ecosystem.”
