The company acknowledged concerns among its customers, employees, agents, merchants and business partners following the development, expressing appreciation for their patience and cooperation.
Zeepay assured stakeholders that it would continue to provide support throughout the process while maintaining open communication and constructive engagement with the Bank of Ghana.

The Bank of Ghana on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, announced the revocation of Zeepay Ghana Limited’s DEMI licence, citing alleged regulatory breaches under the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987).
According to the central bank, the decision followed concerns over the company’s alleged failure to maintain sufficient backing for electronic money issued, as well as non-compliance with regulatory directives.
The action has generated reactions from industry stakeholders, including the Digital Chamber of Ghana, which has urged customers and merchants to remain calm while regulatory processes are addressed.
Zeepay, which is among Ghana’s leading digital payment and remittance companies, has built a strong presence in the financial technology sector through its mobile money and international remittance services.
The company has reiterated its commitment to working with the regulator to resolve outstanding issues while protecting the interests of customers and partners.
